Life hacks. Part 1
Here’s the thing: cultue shock is a real thing. Perhaps it’s a stupid thing to say but I genuinely never would have thought how much can one person change in a year surrounded by unknown people, culture and customs.
Because now I am very sleep deprived, run on third Venti Americano today, and am absolutely done with my deadlines and university stress, I’m going to share some invaluable adice for soon-to-be fresers in university.
Listen up, kiddos!
1) 9AM lectures
Don’t. Just don’t. I too thought, “oh, I’m an early bird, SURELY I can handle early lectures. What COULD go WRONG? I’m going to KILL uni, pshhh...“. Sure, Jan, suuuuuureee.
So please, don’t take my words for granted and do not choose early lectures no matter how tempting the idea might be .
2) Parties
The saying “work hard, play hard“ was undoubtedly invented by university students because that is exactly what most of us do in uni. Sure, living your own life, for most of us, for the first time ever, sounds tempting but that does not mean it’s a good idea to get wasted on your fresher’s week party and get pregnant. Party hard but don’t forget that you have expensive lectures tomorrow.
3) Stay away fom the course’s group chat
If you’re the person who constantly asks who’s up for drinks and club tonight at your uni course’s group chat, I hate you. I don’t care that you’re too lazy to create a separate chat for your usual party buddies to discuss your plans. Get a (chat) room.
To be continued...
