Let’s address the elephant in the room

I do not hold grudge on Brittish people who voted pro Brexit. If anything, I understand why they would do that because, honestly, I would have done the same in their place.
We have Russian speaking people from former Soviet Russia living in my country. They have been there for decades and yet, never bothered to learn my language. I mean, what’s the point, right?
But these immigrants are now old people, people who are citizens of my country yet can barely, if at all, say “hello“. But they get a pension from the government, free health care and other benefits usually provided for senior citizens. I slightly angers and irritates me that I have to adapt to their needs and their language in my country where I was born and raised, grew up seaking my mother tongue.
So how can I not understand how uncofortable it must be for someone who feels like they’re losing their home and national identity?
